Plastic Free July

By July 16, 2018No Comments

It’s easier than you think to reduce your plastic consumption. It’s not some crazy hippie sentiment that only the tree huggers need to worry about. Our over use of plastic means tonnes of the stuff enters the oceans, kills wildlife and accelerates global warming.

It can sometimes feel like there is little we can do to cure such a massive problem, but if each person makes a tiny more effort to reduce their plastic usage, it all adds up to a massive change.

Try some of these easy to implement ideas:

  • Cloth Grocery Bags
  • Metal Lunch Boxes
  • Refuse straws with your cocktail
  • Carry your own coffee mug
  • Use cloth diapers, there are a tonne of workshops on switching to these
  • Instead of buying plastic food storage containers, buy glass
  • Try out your local bulk food store and bring your own glass containers
  • Buy a juicer and bottle your own fresh, preservative free fruit juice.
  • Make your own cleaning products. Lemon and vinegar are great alternatives.
