Shawn Siepler was just another American worker in the e-commerce sector. As a part of his job, he travelled frequently, staying in hotels all across the states. One evening he was thinking about the new soaps he opened at every hotel and what happened to the almost full bars after he checked out. Of course, the hotels had to throw them away and this started him thinking about the wastage.
What if he could get these soaps to people who really needed them like those in Africa and Asia where there are high rates of diarrhea and pneumonia, often cause by ineffective hygiene.
He ended up resigning from his sales role and directing all his energy to what developed into a hygiene kit that he began producing from his garage. Supported by several major hotel chains, Clean the World then became the world’s only global soap recycling company!
