Sustainable Cooking

Any recipe can be made sustainable! Cooking at home with sustainable food tastes better, is more nutritious and it ultimately cheaper than eating out.

So, what is sustainable cooking and why should it be important to you?

What we eat and how we cook affects our health and the health of our planet. This means by choosing to be more informed about where your food comes from, you reduce your impact on the environment and promote companies that care about the environment. These choices are often a healthier option too, such as staying away from GMO products.

Some small changes you can make in the kitchen:

Consciously use less water in the kitchen like boiling your pasta in a touch less water than usual.

Compost what you can to reduce food wastage.

Choose a mmeat-freemeal one night a week.

Spend a little more on those organic vegetables and keep unnecessary chemicals out of your body.

Grow your herbs which means you spend less and avoid the plastic packaging it comes in

Visit the farmers market, and support local farmers.

Change from single use bags to reusable ones.

Swap your plastic wrap for beeswax wrap.
